Message So I haven't driven my Z in about 2-3 months. It's been sitting under my car cover for all those months. My buddy (Gunghoe) has been having problems with what he believes to be his MAF. His car is exposed to the elements and so after running my laptop on it checking couple of the sensors I have personally determined that the AAC is stuck open (90%) when the car is even at operating temp. When reving, it will fluctuate as it's supposed to but doesn't go through the range like mine.. (and bounces right back to 90%) In short, his car is running like crap and can't rev past 3k.
ANYWAYS... So after e-mailing back and forth w/ Bernie, Greg, and a few others, he was advised to swap ECU's w/ me. We get to my house, he puts the MAF and intake back on, my battery is completely dead so we jump it... it runs like a champ. It runs for about 30 seconds before it wants die so I give it a quick rev and it bounces back...... no biggie...
We start heading back to his house about 3 miles away and I can't rev past 4K w/out what sounds like misfire. I back off the throttle and drive it in 2nd gear slowly getting the revs up to 5ish before it happens again.... I drive it normally almost all the way there and try to get into boost... long story short finally after 2-3 times of the same issue, it finally goes into boost fine and I'm able to rev all the way to redline. *sigh* my car is fine.

I get home and talk w/ gunghoe a little more and my heart almost stops as I tell him that I had shoved 2 full regular paper towels in the intake "T" so that something won't crawl up in there or something... I didn't leave it hanging out enough for him to see and even I had forgotten about it.
Needless to say, I was stupid and I thank the Z gods for sparing my poor old stock turbos.
